Elanguest is an adult English language school, located in the Mediterranean costal town of St. Julian’s, Malta. It was founded in 1991 by David and Ursula West to provide fun, high quality English classes to our guests on this sunny island nation.
Malta’s colonial history has woven the English language deeply into our cultural fabric, and we are one of the only truly bilingual nations in the world.
So why should you choose Elanguest?
At Elanguest, we work on principles of quality and integrity. Our teachers are the central pillar of our school. They come from many parts of the English-speaking world: England, Ireland, Scotland, Canada, and Malta. Well certified, highly skilled and experienced, they work with what is important to their students, helping them reach their goals and have an enjoyable experience along the way.
We want you to feel at home with us, which is why we offer excellent teaching in a friendly and family-like environment.

Our school is located in St. Julian’s, the heart of the tourism and entertainment district of Malta. We are directly on one of the island’s main bus lines, making the whole archipelago easily accessible to you. Our school building and student apartments are all located just steps from the sea, so while you’re with us, you will never be far from the blue waves of the Mediterranean.
Our 18 classrooms are located on the second and third floors of our main building, and in our annex building just a hundred metres down the road. They are all well-lit and air conditioned. There are also open study areas available where you can work alone or in groups.
On the first floor is our café, where you can relax and socialise with your friends during breaks. There is free wifi and school computers for your use, and you can enjoy a tea or coffee available from the bar, or move out to the courtyard for a smoke. We also have a large roof terrace which we use for school parties, and which is open for students’ use throughout the day.
If you have any questions about your course, accommodation, or any tours that interest you, you can simply step into our office, which adjoins the café. Our friendly staff will be at your service to make sure you have everything you need.
Tours and Leisure Programme
Malta is a truly incredible place. Even though it is a very small country, there is always something new and surprising to discover. It is a microcosm of European heritage and Mediterranean beauty, a spectral blend of ancient and modern.
Whether you prefer an active holiday of hiking, horse riding, and water sports, a relaxing beach holiday of sun and sea, an epic journey through the pages of history from the world’s most ancient temples to the fortresses of the Knights of St. John to the strategy rooms of World War II, or simply wish to party with your friends, Malta has everything you could possibly wish for.
The fact that Malta is often chosen as a location for movie filming is testimony to the pristine beaches of turquoise waters, and the strangely untouched epic fortresses and churches that can be found at every turn. Malta is pleasantly rich in cultural events suited for every taste. Every week there are concerts, films, plays, festivals, exhibitions, and of course, no limit to the famous village festas celebrated by Malta’s 360 parishes!
At Elanguest, we have our own leisure programme to keep you informed of the latest that’s going on, and we arrange transport and tours so you can easily access what interests you. We even book cruises to Sicily.
