The image of Mosta is dominated by the impressive Santa Marija Assunta church, often called the Mosta Dome or Rotunda Dome. This dome is Europe’s third largest one in terms of the diameter. The 43 metre span forms a highly visible focal point between Mdina and Valletta. During World War II this church even withstood three bombs. One of these warheads can be seen today in the sacristy.
Mosta is a very easy place to get to because it is literally in the centre of Malta and may busses pass through this town. It has beautiful traditional Maltese houses and many shops.
