Carins is referred to as the diving capital of Australia and is a very well maintained city with a large variety of attractions. The city itself is not large but offers plenty of fun: shops, bars, a number of international restaurants, all in a very relaxed atmosphere. Cairns offers beautiful scenery, especially in the hinterland, in the Atherton Tablelands and around the Daintree River. The cost of living is about 30% cheaper than in Perth. The climate is tropical, from warm to hot all year round.
